"After a short customs stop I had an easy day in Puno where a small festival was going on. One of the things that helped make this part of the world for me was the attractive folk music I would hear on radios in cafes and often on buses; a female singer being accompanied by a flute and drums, or just the flute, so it was an extra pleasure to see the music performed. I brought some records home of the local music and still enjoy to hear them, and relive the trip.

While on the train up to Puno a lady got on selling hand made Llama wool pullovers and tried to sell me one. When she said the price I offered her about half the amount thinking she would go away, but instead she accepted and I finished up buying it, though I regretted it at the time it turned out to make a nice souvenir. The ferry back across Lake Titicaca, depite being quite crowded, was still enjoyable, and the next morning I continued on by train to La Paz." - MH
