Located on the historic La Santísima Street its full name is Church and Hospital of the Most Holy Trinity. It was built between 1755 and 1783 and in 1932 the church was declared a national monument, as well as parts of the remaining hospital building.
"Trinidad - Despite feeling shattered, after a quick wash I set off to have a look at the town, I was not disappointed. The attractive central plaza with its fine old colonial buildings was pleasing enough, but as I explored more it seemed to get even better. The town with its old cobbled streets was a real jem, seemingly untouched by time. I so enjoyed looking round I almost forgot how exhausted I had been, though by the time I got back to the guest house, a couple of hours later, I was ready for a meal and a good rest.
It was pleasing too that this delightful part of the old town was being very tastefully restored." - MH
