Also known as Campeche Cathedral.

"I was soon able to catch a bus on to Campeche, reaching this important coastal town by the late afternoon. By this time the skies had cleared and after booking in to a hotel near the bus station, I was able to enjoy the rest of the day having a walk round in the fresh clear air. Campeche had been founded by the Spanish in 1531 on the site of an earlier Mayan City, it is now the provincial capital. I found it to have many interesting modern as well as old buildings, and though I was running out of time, I felt I would have to spend at least the next morning here to have a better look. As things were to turn out, I was able to catch a bus at 3pm the following afternoon to Villahermosa, where after a short break I continued on an overnight bus to Veracruz. Though this meant I saw little of this part of the journey, I did have most of the day in Campeche to look around and paint, as well as change some more money at the bank." - MH
